Eligibility

Eligible Youth: may be in one of, but not limited to, the following non-prioritized categories: 

• Parent lost in combat operations;
   
• Parent severely physically or psychologically wounded in combat operations;
   
• Difficult family situation as determined by professional social workers;
   
• Difficult economic family situation; or,
   
• Physically disabled, but able to operate the flight controls safely.
   

Students who dream of flying and who are in one of categories described above will be considered eligible. References from social workers, teachers, or other qualified sources will be required. The candidate will be asked to provide a written statement identifying why they want to fly. 

Pilot candidates must be willing to enter a contract that they will finish high school; stay out of trouble (no discipline problems); maintain a specified grade point average ("B" average grades are desired, or a demonstrated attempt to perform at or above their capability.); and, accept work around Peak Aviation Center for flight hours as part of their scholarship. 

First or second year high school students are favored.  Reliable transportation to and from the airport is required.
